I have had this unit for a little over one year and now for the past month it makes a “click” sound and the units shuts off. I moved it to another outlet, made sure it was perfectly clean and only use distilled water. However, it is still shutting down spontaneously. I guess I’m past the warranty window so I’m out of any support or replacement.
Be careful purchasing this item. Its a wonderful humidifier when it is working, but if it starts becoming defective right after the warranty expires, it is useless and a waste of money. 😒

So far so good!
I've been using this for about a month now and I really like it. I bought specifically for the stainless steel element. Auto clean button is a nice feature. My only wish would be that there is a larger version. I run on the 'sleep mode' through the night because it is the only mode that will not run out of water even though I would prefer a higher percent of humidity. Livatro - can you make this model in a larger size? :)
